Knetgolf sets industry standard for processing premuim pre-owned balls

By Press Release (November 2009)
TORONTO, ON (Nov. 10, 2009) - Knetgolf - the world's largest combined recycler and refinisher of premium, pre-owned, brand-name golf balls at roughly half price of new golf balls - has established a new industry benchmark by recovering and rejuvenating more than 400,000 golf balls weekly.

Realizing a 33-percent, year-over-year increase in its golf-ball recovery operation, nearly 80,000 balls arrive at Knetgolf's Toronto-based facility daily, up from 60,000 in October 2008. These figures are a result of the company's expanded network of high-end golf-course partners; a sophisticated, eco-friendly ball-rejuvenation process; and its award-winning customer-service program. They also reflect the growing demand for pre-owned golf balls amid challenging economic times, and golfers losing 4.5 balls per round on average (one billion balls annually), according to industry estimates.

"Every facet of the Knetgolf business is experiencing significant year-over-year growth," says Gary Shienfield, CEO of Knetgolf. "This success demonstrates our value proposition and customer loyalty."

There is negligible (if any) difference in the performance of premium, pre-owned golf balls compared to new products. This is supported by the nearly 20 million balls Knetgolf is on track to sell in 2009. Further testament to quality and savings, Knetgolf customers average four re-orders annually with a customer satisfaction rating of 99.95 percent.

Recovered from more than 2,000 exclusive golf resorts mainly in Arizona, California and Nevada, the golf balls undergo Knetgolf's proprietary and leading-edge cleansing process to ensure top condition. The refurbished Titleist, Callaway, Nike and other branded balls are then graded Mint, "A," "B" or "C" and offered at half price or better directly to the golf public at www.knetgolf.com.

Through its wholesale division, www.golfballsonly.com, Knetgolf supplies refinished and refurbished brand-name golf balls to mass-merchant retail chains, golf-specialty shops, pro shops and internet retailers in more than 30 countries. Many merchandisers realize greater margins and sell-through over new golf balls due to the aggressive price points and product quality.

Testament consumer and trade markets' acceptance of Knetgolf, last month the company's co-founder, Shaun Shienfield, was named eBay Canada's 2009 "Entrepreneur of the Year."
