A Classic Club for Contemporary Women
Ladies’ Golf Club of Toronto was ranked #8 in the Toronto Star Golf 2006 listing of top private courses in the GTA. Ladies’ completed a $4.5 million dollar renovation to the golf course in July 2006 that includes a state of the art irrigation system and five new ponds. Its design continues to impress players and visitors alike.

Ladies’ is a unique private golf club for women of all playing abilities. Situated in Thornhill, Ontario, it is easily accessible from highways 401, 407 and 404. The Club provides a place for women to learn, play and enjoy a lifelong involvement with the game of golf in a private club setting. Established in 1924, Ladies’ is the only golf club in North America owned and operated by women. Men have been an important part of Ladies’ since 1936 and can become Guest Card Holders.

The course layout of 21 holes permits a game of 18 or 9 holes. The original 18-hole course was designed by Stanley Thompson, renowned Canadian golf course architect. The Clubhouse remains in the original Watson home with some additions and renovations made over the years to accommodate the growing membership of more than 700.

Founder Ada Mackenzie
Ada Mackenzie (1891 – 1973) was the driving force behind the founding of Ladies’. Her competitive spirit and great ability led Ada to various Canadian Amateur Championships and international play in the U.S. and Britain. It was during her visits to Britain that Ada learned of clubs founded specifically for women players. Given the difficult circumstances for women, including great talents like Ada, faced in gaining access to practice and playing times in the early decades of the last century, the concept of a club designed to meet women’s needs was very appealing. It was a dream Ada saw fulfilled in 1924 when Ladies’ opened.

Membership
Ladies’ offer a flexible entrance fee structure and an Introductory Membership program to allow prospective members to experience and enjoy the privileges prior to joining as a Full Member. On Sunday April 13, 2008, the Club will host the Prospective Member Open House. This provides an opportunity to learn more about the Club and tour the new golf course.

Special Program for Male Golfers - Guest Card Holders
Ladies' also has an annual program for male Guest Card Holders who are interested in playing regularly at the Club. There is currently an opportunity for a limited number of male golfers to become Guest Card Holders at Ladies’. On Sunday April 27, 2008, the Club hosts the Guest Card Holder Open House to men interested in playing at Ladies’.

The Successful Woman’s Guide to Corporate Golf
Ladies' offers a one-day event to professional women who have limited or no experience to familiarize them with the game of golf. The program offers women the opportunity to learn the technical and social skills to become familiar with the game and get some on-course practice. It will equip you to take the confidence you feel in your professional life through to the golf course. All it takes is some time, some fun and a visit to Ladies'. Participants do not have to be members of Ladies'.

Introduction to Golf
From May to September, you will be introduced to all elements of the game and have use of the Club’s practice areas and facilities. The golf Pros will use the latest teaching methods (including video analysis and HeartMath), suited to your skill level. After an initial assessment, you will receive lessons plus weekly supervision on the driving range. A specific plan will be established for you to practice and make the transition to on-course play.
