LEON, Mexico – The weather was benign most of the day at El Bosque Country Club. It really started to pick up at the end of Michael Putnam’s round when he was facing maybe the most important shot of the tournament. He had 220 yards from the middle of the 18th fairway thinking he needed birdie to win the Mexico Championship presented by Banamex. The wind started to pick up as he approached his ball which made the shot over water that much harder.

Governing bodies adopt Rule 14-1b to prohibit anchored putting strokes
